Transform A Conference Center Into An Amazing Reception Hall

If you plan to have a huge wedding reception, a large conference center is often a great option. Conference centers can often have a sterile look to them though, so you will need to think outside of the box if you want to transform the bland space into a fun and exciting reception hall. The following guide provides you with a few things to consider and things to try if you want your reception space to be as lovely as it can possibly be.

Request Tables and Chairs

Many conference centers have tables and chairs on site.  Many conference centers do not charge you any extra for the use of the tables and chairs and will even have someone set them up for you the way that you want to have them set up. You can request to use them so that you do not have to rent them from an outside party rental company. This takes a bit of the pressure off of you on your big day.

Create a Photo Booth

Take two large pieces of plywood and attach them at the top and bottom with hinges so that they can fold flat. Attach a large piece of fabric to both pieces of plywood. When you get to the conference center, open the boards up and lean them against the wall. Make a sign that says "Photo Booth" and add props to the area for people to use when they have their pictures taken. You can include instant cameras that allow everyone to have their picture taken and then have it print from the camera so they can take it home with them from the reception.

Bring Your Own Lighting

You can dim the lights in the center so that they are creating a very romantic glow. Boxed lighting can then be used to project different colors of light throughout the room to add some color. The colors could coincide with the colors you chose for your wedding to create a finished look in the room.

Create Unique Centerpieces

To make the space even more unique, you could use centerpieces of varying heights. Centerpieces that are identical often give the space a very monotone look. By creating centerpieces of varying heights, it will cause everyone to look at the entire room because their attention will be drawn to the varying heights.

Creating the reception hall of your dreams will be easy, if you are willing to put in some effort. The conference center will often give you the entire day to use to set up and take down of your decorations so that you can create the perfect look for your reception.

I created this blog to give others some ideas about what can be done on date nights to make each night spent with your significant other as special and memorable as it can be. Hopefully, you will find something new to do with the person that you love to spend time with.
